Robert Durrant was recently appointed Chairman of the Board of Beca Group Ltd (BGL) a role he takes over from Gavin Cormack. Robert (Bob), until recently Beca's MD International, officially took over the role on 1 September 2008.

The Northern Busway on Auckland's North Shore has won a major award for environmental engineering. Each year IPENZ presents the Arthur Mead Environmental Award in recognition of engineering work that best exemplifies care for environmental values.

A new pedestrian bridge on Auckland's North Shore is turning heads with its unique marine-influenced design. The 46-metre bridge, designed by Beca Architects, is part of a 150-metre walkway through bush above the Onepoto basin.

Beca and clients have won three top awards at this year's Property Council of New Zealand Rider Hunt Awards. The winning projects in 2008 are the AUT Business School, the SkyCity Grand Hotel and Auckland Airport Pier A passenger segregation.

Beca has won an ACENZ gold award for its project to widen the runways for the Airbus A380 at Melbourne Airport, as well as two silvers and three merit awards for projects in Turkey, Singapore, Tonga and Indonesia.
