Our long history of providing services to the New Zealand Defence sector means we understand the Defence Force, its people and its operational needs. Beca has provided service to the NZ Defence Force and Ministry of Defence for more than 20 years. Project planning, development and implementation services have been delivered for a wide range of projects ranging from the development of infrastructure and facilities for Navy, Army and Air to the development of software and systems for specialist Military Equipment.
Beca draws its resources for the development of infrastructure projects from a wide range of consulting disciplines including architecture, electrical and mechanical engineering, civil and structural engineering, surveying and project management. Notable examples of infrastructure development include the reconstruction of the main runway at RNZAF Base Ohakea, the design and construction administration of a new Damage Control school for the RNZN at Devonport in Auckland, and the development of a baffled rifle range for Army. A specialist group, Beca Applied Technologies Ltd, develops mission systems software.
The key success factor for the delivery of services to the defence sector has been a focus on project management, whether the design and reconstruction field or within specialist areas of military software development. This management focus allows Beca to identify, control and mitigate risks associated with the cost and scope.
