Making the move

With more of our people being recruited overseas, we have gathered information and resources to help you on your way. As with any life change, there will be challenges, but we aim to make it as straightforward as possible.

There are a number of practical ways in which Beca can help you when it comes to making the move:

  • Beca has Business Sponsorship Approval from the Australian Department of Immigration so we are able to sponsor successful candidates for the type of visa they require.
  • Internally we have experience in relocations and immigration matters. We will work closely with you every step of the way.
  • Beca people care about their work and each other, and they will want you to feel at home as quickly as possible. Many have worked overseas themselves, so they will understand what you are going through. We're a large organisation so there are plenty of opportunities to build networks and friendships through work.

Visa information
Beca will sponsor successful employees under a 457 Business Long Stay visa through the Australian Department of Immigration. This visa is valid for a period of 4 years during which time employees can apply for permanent residency within Australia if they wish.

The visa allows for dependents (spouse/partner) and children (under the age of 18) to also come to Australia and work or attend school.

Beca will pay the costs of the visa and will use our internal resources as well as a registered migration agent to assist with this process.

Relocation benefits
We aim to make the relocation process as straightforward and easy as possible. Beca will assist with this by providing:

  • One way economy air fares for employees and their families from their closest international airport to their Australian city of employment.
  • Temporary accommodation in a fully furnished serviced apartment upon arrival in Australia for a period of at least 4 weeks until a more permanent home or rental property has been obtained.
  • Relocation allowance in the form of shipping of household goods. We have a preferred supplier who can assist with organising this.

Additional Information

Superannuation
Superannuation is a form of savings where money is set aside by your employer and/or yourself and invested for your retirement. Many funds also pay benefits if you die, or if an illness or accident makes you unable to work. Your employer must contribute a percentage of your earnings base to your superannuation fund which is generally taxed at a lower rate compared to other forms of investment.
